Spun Cotton Fairy Mushroom Ornament

Every spun cotton fairy mushroom is made slowly and carefully by hand, so each one is unique and original, from gills to stalk. This is a whimsical interpretation of an amanita muscaria (fly agaric).

Fairy mushroom ornaments are generally just under three inches tall. Traditional and Rustic Loop mushrooms come with a wire loop for hanging. Choose your favorite ornament hook, or purchase a custom made oxidized copper ornament hook from my web site. Rustic Wire mushrooms hang directly from a whimsically twisted or looped integrated oxidized copper wire.

Each mushroom ornament is made simply from fluffy cotton batting wrapped around wire and sealed with a paste made of starch and water. They are painted with watercolor, coffee, or pastels to give them an earthy appearance, and they are embellished traditionally, with German glass glitter and mica.
