Spun Cotton Fairy Mushroom Ornament

Every spun cotton fairy mushroom is made slowly and carefully by hand, so each one is unique and original, from gills to stalk. This is a whimsical interpretation of an amanita muscaria (fly agaric). Fairy mushroom ornaments are generally around three inches tall. They all come with a wire loop for hanging. Choose your favorite ornament hook, or purchase one here.

Each mushroom ornament is made simply from fluffy cotton batting wrapped around wire and sealed with a paste made of starch and water. They are painted with watercolor or coffee to give them an earthy appearance, and they are embellished traditionally, with German glass glitter and mica.
